Violet's mission is to evolve trust in DeFi. We believe there will be a new suite of protocols that can help bridge the gap between TradFi and DeFi through willingness to engage with regulation and compliance.

Violet's Compliance Infrastructure

Violet is a set of highly customizable compliance and identity infrastructure rails. The core of the system are standardized methods to issue compliance credentials that are specific to a unique transaction. That way on-chain function calls can be permissioned where only authorized participants can gain access. Violet takes data privacy and sovereignty seriously and will never store PII on-chain.

The flows and mechanisms described in the following pages tie into a larger, generalizable framework and can be implemented to support any compliance regime that requires identity proofing (such as Humanbound). In the context of conventional (off-chain) identity and access protocols, Violet aims to provide an OAuth-like functionality on the Ethereum network.
